 State Level NTSE-1 Exam is Conducted By Directorate of Government Exams. Chennai for the state and Selected  Candidates will be recommended for NTSE STAGE 2 Level Which happens under the supervision of NCERT Delhi.

After clearing both stages, Approximately 1000 students will be selected for a monthly scholarship. (After Stage 2 Exam).

Tamilnadu State Quota for Stage 2 Examination is of 233 Students.

 

 

Eligibility for NTSE Exam

 

Students studying in class 10th in the current academic year from any recognized school in Tamilnadu including Kendriya Vidyalaya(Central School) by KVS, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya by Navodaya Samitis and schools affiliated to C.B.S.E. & I.C.S.E and Tamilnadu State Education Board.

Students studying in Class X during 2018-19 in any recognized school are eligible to appear for the examination. The NMMS awardees also are allowed to appear for NTS Examination.

Students must have minimum 60% (for General & 55% for Rest categories) in class 9th.

 

 

Examination Fee:

Rs 50- General/OBC/SC/ST/PH

Application Fee is INR 50 (Rupees Fifty Only) for all the eligible students of Tamilnadu state.

NTSE Stage 1 Exam Pattern:

 

From this year onwards English will not be the part of NTSE Exam and There will be NO Negative Marking for Any Wrong Question.

 *Exam Duration will be 150 minutes for Specially Abled students.

 

MAT Will Have Reasoning Type Questions to test Logical Ability of Students. Mental Ability Test will have 100 questions for 100 Marks.

SAT will Have Questions Testing Subject Knowledge of Students In Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Social Sciences. Scholastic Aptitude Test for 100 Marks with 100 Questions comprising Sciences (40) and Mathematics (20) Social Sciences (40).Each Question Carries one mark. All questions are Multiple Choice Questions with four options.

 

There will be no Language Comprehensive Test.

 

Medium of The exam -English, Tamil

 

 

NOTE:

There is a minimum cutoff requirement of 40 % in MAT and SAT separately for general category and minimum cutoff of 32 % in MAT and SAT for SC/ST/PH (both paper separately)

NTSE Scholarship Detail:

All selected (1000) students will get a monthly scholarship as per decided by NCERT, Delhi. Here Selected Means Final Selection In the Merit List Prepared by NTSE After Two Stages of Examination.

  • For Intermediate students (11th and 12th) – Rs. 1250 per Month.
  • For Under Graduation & Post Graduation Students – Rs. 2000 per Month.
  • For PhD students – As per UGC Norms

Tamilnadu NTSE  stage 1  Results

Last week of January 2019 Result is generally declared in Last week of January. Only selected Candidates can appear in NTSE stage 2 exam conducted by NCERT.

User Guide to fill the Tamilnadu State NTSE Exam

 

Step 1

Visit http://www.dge.tn.gov.in and Download the application form. After Download Take a printout.

Candidates are required to apply for State Level NTS Examination through their school only.

You can also collect the forms from The Headmaster / Head ofInstitution.

 

 

 

Step 2

Use only black/blue ball point pen to fill the application form.

Provide all the necessary details in Capital Letters and double check the information to work against the cancellation of the form.

Write your name and your father’s name on the back side of the passport sized photo which is to be attached on the Application form.

Step 3

Students should fill up the application forms and return the filled in application forms to the Headmaster / Head of Institution concerned, along with Photo and cash of Rs.50/- (Fifty only).

 

 

For Head Of the Institution

Head of the Institution is Required to upload candidates details Online after collection the forms after September 5 2018. After completion of Online submission of particulars in the applications, the Headmaster / The Head of Institution should submit the Summary Report along with the TOTAL FEES IN CASH collected from the students to the respective DISTRICT EDUCATIONAL OFFICERS. The last Date will be intimated later.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:

For SC, ST, and PH – A copy of caste, reservation, category, and disability certificates must be attached along with the application form.

For OBC Candidates – OBC or Other Backward Class applicants will also be required to send a copy of their caste certificate attached with the application. Only ‘Non-creamy layer’ students will be able to avail the reservation. 

  • Applicants must locate and identify their caste/ community in the ‘Central List of OBCs’ by NCBC (National Council of Backward Classes.

students are advised to have a photocopy of admit card for his/her record as admit card will be submitted after the exam.

The question paper will be given to the student.
