NTSE (National Talent Search Exam) Stage-1  Notification for Maharashtra has been released by Maharashtra State Council of Examination, Pune.

State Level NTSE-1 Exam is Conducted By Maharashtra State Council of Examination, Pune.for the state and Selected  Candidates will be recommended for NTSE STAGE 2 Level Which happens under the supervision of NCERT Delhi.


After clearing both stages, Approximately 1000 students will be selected for a monthly scholarship. (After Stage 2 Exam).


Maharashtra recommends 387 students for stage 2 examination.



Eligibility for NTSE Exam


Students studying in class 10th in the current academic year from any recognized school in Maharashtra including Kendriya Vidyalaya(Central School) by KVS, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya by Navodaya Samitis and schools affiliated to C.B.S.E. & I.C.S.E. Boards, Maharashtra board.

Students must have a minimum of 55% (5% relaxation for SC/ST category) in class 9th and due for appearing in ensuring class 10th Annual Examination 

Students registered under Open and Distance Learning Courses like NIOS are also eligible, provided

the students are below the age of 18 years (as on July 1, 2019)

the student is not employed and they are appearing in class 10 for the first time.




Examination Fee:

Students can get the forms from their respective schools to fill it offline and submit it after paying the required fee (Rs. 120).

NTSE Stage 1 Exam Pattern:


From this year onwards English will not be the part of NTSE Exam and There will be NO Negative Marking for Any Wrong Question.

 *Exam Duration will be 150 minutes for Specially Abled students.


MAT Will Have Reasoning Type Questions to test Logical Ability of Students. Mental Ability Test will have 100 questions for 100 Marks.


SAT will Have Questions Testing Subject Knowledge of Students In Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Social Sciences. Scholastic Aptitude Test for 100 Marks with 100 Questions comprising Sciences (40) and Mathematics (20) Social Sciences (40).Each Question Carries one mark. All questions are Multiple Choice Questions with four options.


There will be no Language Comprehensive Test.


Medium of The exam -English Hindi Marathi Gujarati Urdu Kannada and Telugu




 There is a minimum cutoff requirement of 40 % in MAT and SAT separately for general category.

 and minimum cutoff of 32 % in MAT and SAT for SC/ST/PH (both paper separately)



NTSE Scholarship Detail:


All selected (1000) students will get a monthly scholarship as per decided by NCERT, Delhi. Here Selected Means Final Selection In the Merit List Prepared by NTSE After Two Stages of Examination.

  • For Intermediate students (11th and 12th) – Rs. 1250 per Month.
  • For Under Graduation & Post Graduation Students – Rs. 2000 per Month.
  • For PhD students – As per UGC Norms

Last week of January 2019 Result is generally declared in Last week of January. Only selected Candidates can appear in NTSE stage 2 exam conducted by NCERT.

User Guide to fill the Maharashtra STATE NTSE Exam

Please read the format of all the information forms and the syllabus, schedule, the necessary certificates, examination fees and other information for filling the application form on the website.


Step 3

After observing all the information and information, click the Registration button on the school.


Step 4

Fill the information of the school and headmaster in the open online application form and fill the information accurately, then click the Submit button. Please enter VALID / WORKING Mobile number Email ID below, as your Login ID Password will be shared on this Registered Mobile number & Email ID.


Step 5

 Login with Login Id and Password received in the received mobile number of the application.


Step 6

 After login to the school, click the Student Registration button on the right.


Step 7

 Fill out the information in the open online application form and upload the latest photo, signature image. Fill the information accurately, then click on the Save button.


Step 8

 Click on the Preview button to verify your application by looking at your completed application form.


Step 9

 Carefully scrutinize the application form, since no application can be made after submission of application.


Step 10

 If you want to make changes in the preview, you can make changes again using the Edit button. If you are interested in using Online Banking, Credit / Debit Card etc., by using the Proceed to pay button. There will be a fee for online mode.


Step 11

 Take the print of the application in the prescribed period.

 Keep a copy of the application for your information in schools.
