State Level NTSE-1 Exam is Conducted By the J&K State Board of School Education  (JK BOSE) for the state and Selected  Candidates will be recommended for NTSE STAGE 2 Level Which happens under the supervision of NCERT Delhi.


After clearing both stages, Approximately 1000 students will be selected for a monthly scholarship.



Eligibility for NTSE Exam


Students studying in class 10th in the current academic year from any recognized school in Jammu & Kashmir including Kendriya Vidyalaya(Central School) by KVS, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya by Navodaya Samitis and schools affiliated to C.B.S.E. & I.C.S.E. Boards J&K Board.

Students must have a minimum of 60% (5% relaxation for SC/ST category) in class 9th and due for appearing in ensuring class 10th Annual Examination i.e October 2018 in Kashmir Division/ Winter Zones areas of Jammu Division and March-2019 in Summer Zone areas of Jammu Division.


There is no domicile restriction for Students who want to appear for NTSE Jammu & Kashmir 2019.


Students registered under Open and Distance Learning Courses like NIOS are also eligible, provided

the students are below the age of 18 years (as on July 1, 2019)

the student is not employed and they are appearing in class 10 for the first time.

The Application fee for Jammu & Kashmir NTSE Stage-1 exam –


An amount of Rs 110/- through Payslip in favour of Liaison Officer NTSE, (preferably from through J&K Bank).

NTSE Stage 1 Exam Pattern:


From this year onwards English will not be the part of NTSE Exam and There will be NO Negative Marking for Any Wrong Question.

 *Exam Duration will be 150 minutes for Specially Abled students.


MAT Will Have Reasoning Type Questions to test Logical Ability of Students. Mental Ability Test will have 100 questions for 100 Marks.


SAT will Have Questions Testing Subject Knowledge of Students In Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Social Sciences. Scholastic Aptitude Test for 100 Marks with 100 Questions comprising Sciences (40) and Mathematics (20) Social Sciences (40).Each Question Carries one mark. All questions are Multiple Choice Questions with four options.


There will be no Language Comprehensive Test.



NTSE Scholarship Detail:


All selected (1000) students will get a monthly scholarship as per decided by NCERT, Delhi. Here Selected Means Final Selection In the Merit List Prepared by NTSE After Two Stages of Examination.

  • For Intermediate students (11th and 12th) – Rs. 1250 per Month.
  • For Under Graduation & Post Graduation Students – Rs. 2000 per Month.
  • For PhD students – As per UGC Norms

Last week of January 2019 Result is generally declared in Last week of January. Only selected Candidates can appear in NTSE stage 2 exam conducted by NCERT.

Download and print the application form from the official website of JKBOSE. Admit card/ hall ticket will be attached within the application form.

Use Legal (8.5” x 14”) size paper for taking print of the Application Form

Read all the instructions carefully before filling the application form

  • Use only Blue or Black Ball Point Pen. WRITE IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Do not mark or write outside the boxes.


  • Leave one box blank between two words. Limit your name and/or address within the space provided for it. 


  • Make Sure that the Admit card is not detached from the application form. 


  • The candidate/Principal should leave the 4-digit Centre code blank, to be filled by the Liaison Officer/Nodal Officers of JKBOSE.



 Application forms should be attested by the head of the institution and accompanied with (marks card, income certificate and reserved category certificate ) along with pay slip of Rs 110 favouring Liaison officer NTSE deposited in

Applicants are requested to refer/consult the application form, published by the JKBOSE for caste category reservation.
Some options of Caste Category (Like OC, Other 1 and other 2), given in the form are applicable for the State/UT
only. No reservation will be given against these categories by the NCERT in the national level examination



NTSE J&K Admit Card

Admit card will be sent to the Superintendent of the examination centre after allotting the Roll Numbers. Candidate can collect the Admit card from the J&K BOSE
Jammu/Srinagar at least one week before the examination.

The candidates shall collect the admit cards from the respective Branches. admit card will  available in the offices of the concerned Districts except for Jammu District. The candidates of Jammu district will be able to collect their admit cards from CDR Wing- JD, J&K Bose Rehari Jammu.

NTSE J&K Answer Key

The answer key for the exam will be available in the Second week of December 2018.
