State Level NTSE-1 Exam is Conducted By State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Sector 32, UT Chandigarh and Selected Candidates will be recommended for NTSE STAGE 2 Level Which happens under the supervision of NCERT Delhi.
After clearing both stages, Approximately 1000 students will be selected for a monthly scholarship.(After Stage 2 Exam)
Ten Students from Chandigarh will be Recommended for NTSE Stage 2 Examination
Eligibility for NTSE Exam
Students studying in class 10th in the current academic year from any recognized school in Chandigarh including Kendriya Vidyalaya(Central School) by KVS, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya by Navodaya Samitis and schools affiliated to C.B.S.E. & I.C.S.E. Boards, Haryana/Punjab Education Board.
Students must have a minimum of 61% (56% for SC/ST/PH category) in class 9th and due for appearing in class 10th Annual Examination.
Students registered under Open Distance Learning (ODL) will also be eligible for the scholarship, provided
- the student is below the age of 18 years (as on 1st July of the particular year)
- the student is not employed and she/he is appearing in class X examination for the first time.
Examination Fee:
There is No Application fee for Chandigarh NTSE Examination.You Just Need to fill the form and Submit with All the Documents Attached.

NTSE Stage 1 Exam Pattern:
From this year onwards English will not be the part of NTSE Exam and There will be NO Negative Marking for Any Wrong Question.

*Exam Duration will be 150 minutes for Specially Abled students.
MAT Will Have Reasoning Type Questions to test Logical Ability of Students. Mental Ability Test will have 100 questions for 100 Marks.
SAT will Have Questions Testing Subject Knowledge of Students In Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Social Sciences. Scholastic Aptitude Test for 100 Marks with 100 Questions comprising Sciences (40) and Mathematics (20) Social Sciences (40).Each Question Carries one mark. All questions are Multiple Choice Questions with four options.
There will be no Language Comprehensive Test.
NOTE:
there is a minimum cutoff requirement of 40 % in MAT and SAT separately in Chandigarh state NTSE Exam.
and minimum cutoff of 32 % in MAT and SAT is required separately for HScTSS exam.
NTSE Scholarship Detail:
All selected (1000) students will get a monthly scholarship as per decided by NCERT, Delhi. Here Selected Means Final Selection In the Merit List Prepared by NTSE After Two Stages of Examination.
- For Intermediate students (11th and 12th) – Rs. 1250 per Month.
- For Under Graduation & Post Graduation Students – Rs. 2000 per Month.
- For PhD students – As per UGC Norms

User Guide to fill the Chandigarh NTSE Exam
Step 1
Visit http://www.siechd.nic.in/upload/Application%20form%20NTSE%202018.pdf and Download the application form. After Download Take a printout.

Step 2
Use only black/blue ball point pen to fill the application form.
Provide all the necessary details in Capital Letters and double check the information to work against the cancellation of the form.
Write your name and your father’s name on the back side of the passport sized photo which is to be attached on the Application form.
Step 3
After Properly Filling the form Submit It to your School with All the Required Documents Or With the State Liaison Officer.
It is the responsibility of the candidate and the principal of the school to deposit the filled in form with the state concerned Officer(Liaison Officer) before the last date.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED:
NOTE: NO RESERVATION APPLICABLE FOR ST(SCHEDULED TRIBES) IN CHANDIGARH
For SC/OBC-
Candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste /OBC Category has to attach the attested copy of the certificate regarding reserved caste issued by SDM / Tehsildar with the Application Form. In case, the candidate fails to submit the required certificate, he/she will be considered in the GENERAL Category provided he/she fulfils the conditions for GENERAL Category. Otherwise, the form is liable to be rejected.
For OBC Candidates –
OBC or Other Backward Class applicants will also be required to send a copy of their caste certificate attached with the application. Only ‘Non-creamy layer’ students will be able to avail the reservation.
- Applicants must locate and identify their caste/ community in the ‘Central List of OBCs’ by NCBC (National Council of Backward Classes.

For PH Candidates
Candidate belonging to Physically Challenged Group of children must attach the attested copy of the certificate issued by the competent authority stating that the child suffers from 40% or more disability as per the P.W.D. Act 1995 disability is of permanent/temporary nature.
NOTE:
It is essential to attach caste certificate (OBC/SC) and Certificate for a Physically Challenged group, Certificates should be attested by gazetted officer. if the candidate of OBC/SC/PH does not attach the attested photocopy of caste/disability certificate with application form they will be treated as a general candidate.
students are advised to have a photocopy of admit card for his/her record as admit card will be submitted after the exam.
The question paper will be given to the student.
